Does your child struggle with BIG emotions and need strategies/or coping skills to handle their feelings? Does your child have difficulty with self-regulation and/or appropriate reactions to their emotions?
Everyone experiences feelings of anger and frustration at some point. Often our response to these feelings can sometimes be irrational or inappropriate in specific settings or situations. That’s where My Spark Toolbox comes in handy.
This toolbox is the ultimate kit that will help children who are in need of support using appropriate calm-down strategies, self-regulation, and social-emotional skills.
These strategy tool cards are illustrated to reflect each solution to feeling angry, frustrated, upset, worried, mad, or impulsive. They are the perfect addition to your calm-down corner, or to use simply when it’s just too hard to think straight or figure out what might help a child relax and stay calm. Kids find these cards a great way to take control of their emotions and discover a way to find relief when they feeling overwhelmed.
This product contains 50 calm-down strategy cards. One side shows a tool illustration, and the other side, is an illustration depicting a calm-down strategy. Additionally, two blank, open-ended cards are included in the kit to fill in your own idea for a calm-down strategy.
Each child’s coping skills may differ from one another, and what may work for one child may not always be the solution for another. It’s up to you to choose which solution will work for you and for your child in that specific time. Find the calm-down strategy to help your child control their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the most positive and appropriate way. You can also modify this toolbox by removing some solution cards that may not be the best choice for your child at that specific time.
